The mission of the Sens Foundation is to leverage and provide both financial and in-kind support to registered charitable 
organizations whose programs focus on improving the quality of life for children and youth in eastern Ontario and 
western Quebec. The Sens Foundation provides support in the areas of education, health, and recreation. 

The Sens Foundation Scholarship Program 

The Sens Foundation, in partnership with the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, has established ten annual scholarships of $ 1,000 each 
for students studying at Algonquin College in full-time programs specifically for Fall 2011. Students from the 6 local school boards 
(CDSBEO, OCSB, OCDSB, RCCDSB, RCDSB, and UCDSB) are invited to submit applications. Details are listed below. 

Criteria 

1. Student has applied to a full-time post secondary program at Algonquin College for Fall 2011. 
2. Student must include a two-page summary outlining the following: 
a. Strong academic achievements; 
b. Demonstrated involvement in the community; 
c. Demonstrated participation in sport activities and strong teamwork skills; 
d. Demonstrated passion for their Algonquin College field of study. 
3. The two-page summary must be approved and signed by the school principal. 
4. Applicants must have completed all the requirements for obtaining an OSSD by June 30, 2011. 
Selection Process 

1. Applicants must submit the complete package to their high school Honours & Awards Coordinator by the date specified by the high school. 
2. The high school Honours & Awards Coordinator or designate will forward their approved applications to the Board 
specific contact by Friday April 29, 2011.

District School Board (3), Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (1), Renfrew County District School Board (1), 
Upper Canada District School Board (1). 
4. The school board will forward the names and applications for the award recipients for the Sens Foundation Scholarship Program to:

5. Any applications submitted directly to Algonquin College by the student will not be considered. 
Notification and Presentation of Award 

Successful award recipients will be notified of the award through their participating school and/or School Board, and will receive 
a scholarship credit of $ 1,000 towards their Algonquin College tuition. The award will be presented at their high school 
graduation ceremonies.
